Sunday Ski

More details on the wedding and professional pictures will be coming soon!

In the meantime, here's a few from our adventures in skiing on Sunday. Megan, Nathan, Troy, Elise, Rick, Miss Allie, Lauren, Emily, Bob, Frank, and Jeremy took to the slopes as the snow began to fall--and boy did it snow! The snow didn't stop falling until late Monday night, which made travel a little tricky for some, although everyone made it safely home.

The Wedding

The wedding took less than 30 minutes, I (Troy) was busy with the flower girl downstairs so I am lacking a bit from the actual nuptials. But got these pics when they were declared husband and wife.

The Church

The Wedding / Flower Girl Edition

Well, Kajsa walked straight up the first time, but didn't throw any flowers. Elise showed her what to do, so Kajsa went back and did the job correctly the second time through.

HOWEVER..... after Megan walked up, Kajsa thought well enough to try to clean up her mess.
She didn't have anywhere to throw away the roses, so she decided to just give them to people in the pews.

Then she did wind sprints. Up and down the church. Then her father took her down stairs so the wedding could resume.

Skiing is GREAT!

Friday was spent skiing and taking in the fantastic views from 10,000 feet.

Telluride Gondola

This is the view heading into Telluride from Mountain Village. It's absolutely breathtaking. The church is probably 4-6 blocks from the station where the gondola ends.

First Few Scenes

Troy enjoys his favorite beverage, Fat Tire.

Melanie and Megan check out the hot tub!

Elise and Kajsa in new Telluride jackets.

The gorgeous kitchen in the gorgeous cabin!

Another view of the main room in the cabin. There are FOUR other floors!

Rick and Jodi enjoy the beautiful Colorado outdoors on one of the many balconies at the cabin!

We're in Telluride

We've made it to the cabin, ate some lunch and are stretching out around now. We've joined up with most of the people that were scheduled to meet with us at the cabin.

Emily, Frank, and Bob missed their flight early this morning. They were able to get on the next flight a few hours later. They've just landed in Denver.

UPDATE: Scratch dinner time... Emily and Bob got bumped twice on standby, should be on their way now. Frank got on after I believe getting bumped just once, so he was in charge of getting the vehicle squared away so they could get off the flight running.

Easy flight

The flower girl had no problems on our flight to Grand Junction. We got to our destination ahead of schedule. But according to Kajsa, the entertainment services of our connected flight from Denver to Grand Junction only got a rating of 3 kitties.

Grand Junction Arrival

Nathan and I arrived safely and on-time in Grand Junction this evening around 6 p.m. mountain time. Nathan's aunt and uncle, Jean and Glen Johnson, picked us up at the airport and took us out for dinner at Boston's Pizza. There was a gorgeous pink sunset over the mountains and when we landed it felt warm outside, even though everyone in Grand Junction disagreed! They aren't used to these "low" temps. When we told them it was about 15 below zero in Hallock and blowing snow, they understood why we weren't wearing coats in their balmy 40 degree weather!

Tomorrow we're spending the day doing various errands, including getting my poor dress steamed (I had to cram it into an overhead compartment the size of a lunch box) and buying groceries and prime rib for the reception! Rick, Jodi, Kajsa, Troy, Elise and Gladys will join us, as their flight is supposed to arrive around 3 p.m.

More later, and hopefully some pictures soon!

The Adventure Begins....

Nathan and I are currently waiting at the Fargo airport for our plane to take off. It is currently sunny and clear in Fargo and we are set to take off sometime around 12:45 or so. Should be an easy flight, as we brought movies to keep us entertained!

So far, it has been quite the adventure traipsing around the airport with my giant wedding dress bag! We have already been stopped several times by people asking where we are getting married. I'm still curious as to how we will fit it on the plane or if they'll let us hang it up somewhere, but we have an appointment to get it steamed professionally when we arrive in Grand Junction, so I'm not too worried about it.

We'll update again probably tonight when we land in Grand Junction!

Welcome

This is the inaugural posting for Nathan and Megan's wedding. Here I (we) hope to post quotes, stories, pictures, and quite possibly a few videos.

For today, the schedule is that I'll be bringing them to the airport around 11 am. They'll be flying into Grand Junction sometime this early evening.

Stay tuned.
